Pursuit of the big winter natives is starting to slow on the coast, with the promise of warmer weather, early arriving summer fish and the growing proximity of trout opening day. April is a fantastic time of year, with fishing of all types available and one can look in any direction to find a great place to spend time on the water.

We've got all of 2008's newest wading supplies from Cloudveil, Simms, Patagonia and Korkers. Get Trout season started off on the right foot with a comfortable pair of boots and some waders that don't leak! Boots have come a long way in the last couple years, and we're sure to have a pair that will help you wade safely and comfortably.

It's time to start thinking about dusting off the skills and getting back out on the water. Some folks I know keep the waders in the back of the rig all winter long, but most enjoy get out in the warmer temps of spring, summer and fall. If you've gotten out of touch with your skills, are just starting out, or you have a hankering to get in touch with a new piece of water or type of fishing; Kaufmann's is here to help.

Bob Quigley the "Father" of modern spring creek fly tying brings us more of his magic. Bob is best known for developing the concept, that in heavy hatches trout are targeting flies that are caught trying to emerge from their nymphal shuck making them the easiest meal. Bob went on to develop the first ever patterns that imitate these "crippled" mayflies.
