News, Announcements & Fishing Report!
February 26th, 2009

Someone heard our lamentations...there's finally a little water arriving in the Northwest and it couldn't come at a better time. It's amazing what happens when I wash my car. Wild winters are all over the place and their excuse to move just arrived. There hasn't been a better time in 2009 to call in sick, schedule a snow day or at worst secure your open weekend. It's time to get out, swing slow and get the big grab you've been dreaming about. Take some pics and email 'em to me, you never know what you might get back in the mail.

The "Jerry's Travel Special's" section of the site continues to expand. We've got extraordinary offers available for Bonefish, Permit, Alaska Kings, Chilean Sea-Run Browns, South American Trout, and Caribbean Tarpon. Not too mention all the food, beverages, good times, and beautiful scenery that accompany a trip to an exotic locale. Northwest Spey casters should consider Alaska West's special deal for the first week of Kings on the Kanektok River. One of the finest King fisheries in the world and one with which we're well acquainted, you'll be joined by Dec Hogan for a week of instruction and some of the hottest "big" salmon you'll find on the planet. All participants in this week of King fishing will receive any rod of their choosing from Kaufmann Streamborn! Click here for more details on Alaska West.

Spey Days 2009 continues to gather steam. As we draw closer to the event, keep tuned to www.speydaysnw.com. The full schedule (subject to change, of course) is posted there, along with class updates. William Joseph has a new wader available March 15th. The William Joseph WST is a breathable wader containing it's own inflatable floatation system. This wader should be a boon for all anglers who fish hazardous waters, wade deep or are getting on in years. The floatation chamber surrounds the angler's torso above the belt line and is activated by a pull of a rip-cord for instant inflation, additionally the air bladder has a breathing tube which can help the angler to keep the bladder topped off or for manual inflation. The WST features a large outer chest pocket as well as built-in gravel guards, redundant seam taping and fully adjustable shoulder straps. William Joseph does it again, by bringing one of the most innovative new products in fly-fishing to market.

Jason Klivington takes the schwag pile for the last photo contest by going to the source for sea-run trout in the southern hemisphere. Hit me up for your free gift when you get back, Jason.
