Kaufmann Streamborn E-newsletter
News, Announcements & Fishing Report! |
In the wake of the (somewhat) slowing Salmonfly hatch, eager beaks continue to rise in Northwest waters. June is a bountiful time for trout anglers and fish alike. We're just about on the cusp of the summer steelhead season starting gun going off, but pre-season steelheaders have been experiencing summer chrome for a couple months. It's not too late to get in on the action!

Nautilus 10/11 NV Reel - Just a "cream of the crop" reel. The 10/11 NV is ideal for today's lighter, shorter summer steelhead spey rods, not to mention your tarpon stick. The 10/11 will comfortably hold your runner, backing and up to a 550 grain head. |
Z-Axis 6126-4 Spey Rod - A fantastic Deschutes, N. Umpqua, Grande Ronde stick, the 6126 Z-Axis is one of the best summer steelhead speys on the market. The rod shines as an underhanded floating line cannon, and is complemented by the backbone to push a Skagit head and tip for those high in the sky times of day. |
Fishpond Blue River Pack - The Blue River Pack from fishpond doubles as an over the shoulder satchel or a hip pack. Great for the angler who needs a bit of gear when they hop out of the boat or drop the pack. |
Wachter Net - Wachter Nets are an item everyone needs but always seem to forget. It's never more apparent than on the day you struggle to land a wily 20-incher in the middle of the riffle. |
Sharkskin Line - A year in, Sharkskin has proved its mettle. Possessing great shootability & little memory, SA's Sharkskin lines may be most noted for their no-stretch core, providing the quickest and best hookups possible. |
Sagebrush Kit Bag - The only truly "dry" bag out there. Sagebrush's Kit bag is ideal for the traveling angler, as well as one's spending a great deal of time in the drifter, sled, panga, skiff or trawler. |
A Steelheader's Way – Lani Waller's latest and possibly greatest. The Steelheader's Way is a poetic and reverential study of one of the world's great gamefish. |
Rio's Modern Spey Casting DVD - Our best selling instructional video. Modern Spey Casting is perfect for two-handed anglers greenhorn to advanced. Hours of content, tricks and methodology from some of the best in the business. |
Renzetti Traveler Vise - Premier fly tyers agree; the Renzetti Traveler Vise provides the best "bang for the buck" available in vises today. |
Simms Wading Belt - Often overlooked, the wading belt is an essential and utilitarian piece of safety gear for the angler. The Neoprene version from Simms is the best of the bunch. |
